AR003 - DJ Ruxbin ft. MC Love Jones - The 'Sensei-Mía 6-track Promo Mixedtape' CD

$4.30
sold out

Talk about OLD SCHOOL! A very yung DJ Ruxbin née kid a.d.D got linked up with MC Ryan Love Jones upstairs at the 43rd Ward show house on 43rd and Spruce streets in 2008 with two turntables and a microphone and the result was…. err…. recorded here.

Limited edition of probably less than 40 total handmade, stamped and spray-painted CDrs. Cover art on cut up shoe boxes spanning back to middle school, I’m sayin’! Each one unique and featuring both live mixes with live MCing and multi-track studio productions cut very early on the VS-2000 16 track digital recorder/mixer/drum machine. Packed in cut up CD pocket sleeves, a true DIY affair and also the first recorded appearance of DJ Ruxbin - fun fact!

There were 2 different main versions of this 6 track promo mixedtape CDr featuring guest appearances from Jason Mallory, Jason Shevrin, N.J. James, including rare DIY variants and mini hand-spraypainted shoebox slice covers (Earliest version issued as a way more-rare 3 or 4 track promo mix with a full corrugated-cardboard handstamped cover). The later and final editions came with the full ‘Sensei Mia’ Splinter cover with fold-out liner and cut’n’paste phonographic art assembled inside of the 43rd Ward Show House, plus flyers for various upcoming performances stuffed inside.

There are some copies of BOTH rare editions AND the main editions in a box somewhere, so if you want this nonsense then watch this space….we may finally flip that shit! Ryan would be proud…. wherever he is!
